November 2023: Anti-Social Behaviour and Violent Sexual Offences Report

The Community Council publishes reports on Anti-social behavioural and Violent Sexual Offences to help better inform the community about the prevalence of these social ills and to promote open dialogue between the community, QPCC and other statutory bodies and authorities so we can better prevent and deal with the effects of these issues in our community.

Overall, in Queen’s Park, there were 1,276 crimes (to November 2023), 3% higher than the 1,241 crimes over the same period in 2022. Below is the summary of all 14 reported crime categories.

Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) 

 

The charts above illustrates data using the following colour system:

  • Green: 2023 (to November)
  • Red: 2022 
  • Bold Grey: three-year average

ASB accounted for: 

  • 328 incidents in 2023 (to November), a reduction of 25% compared to 436 over the same period last year.
  • 26% of all crime categories reported. See the chart containing a list of all categories reported.
  • 28 incidents between October and November 2023 – an increase of 8% compared to reports between September and October 2023, 65% compared to reports between October and November 2022.

Reported ASB incidents in November 2023 were 20% lower than the three-year average for the same period (2020 – 2023).

Violence and Sexual Offences (VSO)

The charts above illustrate data using the following colour system:

  • Green: 2023 (to November)
  • Red: 2022 
  • Bold Grey: three-year average

VSO accounted for:

  • 356 incidents this year, an increase of 18% compared to 302 over the same period last year.
  • 28% of all crimes reported. See the chart containing a list of all categories reported.
  • 25 incidents between October and November 2023 – a reduction of 34% compared to reports between September and October 2023; encouragingly, an 11% decrease compared to November 2022.

Reports of Violent Sexual Offences were 17% lower in November 2023 than the three-year average for the same period (2020 – 2023)
