We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Project Coordinator to support our mission of providing culturally inclusive and accessible mental health support for the diverse residents of Queen’s Park. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a pioneering pilot project that aims to make a meaningful difference in the community.

Project Aim

The Queen’s Park Community Council (QPCC) and Shifaá Healing Hearts Counselling initiative is to:

  • Address cultural barriers and stigma surrounding mental health.
  • Support individuals in reconnecting with their roots, values, and identities.
  • Foster emotional resilience, healing, and a stronger sense of community belonging.

Together, we aim to create a safe and welcoming space where everyone feels empowered to thrive.

About the Role and Responsibilities

As an Assistant Project Coordinator, you will work closely with the Project Coordinator to ensure the smooth running of the initiative. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage referrals and follow-ups with participants to maintain engagement and provide a seamless client experience.
  • Build and nurture relationships with local organisations to foster meaningful collaboration and outreach.
  • Support the development and delivery of community-focused therapy sessions and workshops.
  • Track project impact by collecting participant feedback and monitoring attendance.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safeguarding protocols, GDPR, and other legal requirements.
  • Provide comprehensive logistical and administrative support to the Project Coordinator and therapists.
  • Actively engage with the community to promote mental health services and reduce associated stigma.

This role is ideal for individuals with a background in therapeutic services or a strong interest in mental health, community engagement, and making a tangible impact.
