Black History Month 2025 Film Series: Girl (2023)

October 10 @ 6:20 pm - 8:30 pm

Celebrate Black History Month with a powerful film series that explores themes of power, pride and standing firm. We start with Girl, exploring a claustrophobic tale of mother & daughter in Glasgow; then Borders, which sees four women from different parts of Africa bond while taking a long bus journey; and On Becoming a Guinea Fowl, a dark comedy sees a middle-class Zimbabwean family come together at a funeral. Finally, we’re going to close out our Black History Month film series with a Halloween Special African Horror Film – details for this will be announced soon!

Girl (2023)

Ama and Grace, and they only have each other, and that’s all they need. They live confined to their apartment in Glasgow. Only Grace goes out to work as a cleaner, forbidding Ama to go out.

Book via the form below.
