Queen’s Park Community Council extends its deepest condolences to the Walters family, who tragically lost a beloved member in a fatal shooting last night. Our thoughts are with them during this time of unimaginable grief.
We also wish to express our heartfelt sympathies to the family and loved ones of Rene Graham, whose life was taken in an act of violence on July 21st.
We recognize that your loss is deeply personal and the pain is immense, and while we cannot fully understand the grief you are enduring, please know that you are not alone.
Your sorrow is felt by the entire community and we stand with you in this time of profound sadness, sharing in your loss and offering our unwavering support and solidarity.
The Community Council wish to respect your privacy and need for time and space to grieve, and encourage you to reach out if and when you need us.
We also know that the wider community is feeling shaken and vulnerable and encourage anyone struggling emotionally to seek help. The Samaritans are available 24/7 at 116 123, and are ready to support!
As your Community Council, we are acutely aware of the fear and concern these tragedies have stirred and are strengthening our collaboration with law enforcement, local authorities, and community organizations. Together, we are working on hyper-local solutions to address the ongoing concerns about safety and violence in our neighbourhood.
