April 2024: Anti-Social Behaviour and Violent Sexual Offences Report

We continue to monitor and publish reports on Anti-social Behavioural and Violent Sexual Offences to help better inform the community about the prevalence of these social ills and to promote open dialogue between the community, QPCC and other statutory bodies and authorities so we can better prevent and deal with the effects of these issues in our community.

Overall, in Queen’s Park, there were 328 crimes (to April 2024), 28% lower than the 455 crimes over the same period in 2023. Below is the summary of all 14 reported crime categories.

 

 

Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB)

ASB accounted for: 

  • 88 incidents in 2024 (to April), a reduction of 19% when compared to 108 over the same period last year.
  • 27% of all crime categories reported. See the chart containing a list of all categories reported.
  • 23 incidents between March and April 2024 – a decrease of 21% compared to reports over the same period last year, 28% lower when compared to reports between April 2024 and April 2023.

Reported ASB incidents in April 2024 were 62% lower than the four-year average for the same period (2020 – 2023).

 

Violence and Sexual Offences (VSO)

VSO accounted for:

  • 99 incidents this year, a reduction of 23% when compared to 129 over the same period last year.
  • 30% of all crimes reported. See the chart containing a list of all categories reported.
  • 22 incidents between March and April 2024 – a decrease of 4% compared to reports over the same period last year, 15% lower when compared to reports between April 2024 and April 2023.

Reports of Violent Sexual Offences were 16% lower in April 2024 than the four-year average for the same period (2020– 2023)
