What We do

Queen’s Park Community Council runs projects, services and events in line with our vision, mission and objectives, many of which are developed by the Council’s Working Groups. You can find information about our various activities by exploring our website.

The Community Council also plays a vital role working with Westminster City Council, including representing the interests of local people to the City Council and other statutory bodies on the following remits:

  • Rubbish Collection
  • Recycling
  • Benefits
  • Housing
  • Roads and Highways
  • Council Tax Collections

In addition, the Council facilitates four annual events each year. These events help to promote community cohesion, support residents and provide opportunities for residents to get involved locally.

Queen's Park Summer Festival 2022

Queen’s Park Summer Festival

(First Saturday of August, annually)

Every August, Queen’s Park Community Council hosts the Queen’s Park Summer Festival, a free and fun-filled celebration of our local community. Summer Festival features live performances, interactive activities for residents of all ages, food vans and stalls hosted by local organisations and residents. These include advice and support on recycling, health and wellbeing, and introductory workshops to sports, gardening and creative arts. There is a special over 50s space in St Jude’s Hall during the festival, across the road from the Queen’s Park Gardens.

QPCC is always looking for performers, stall holders, caterers and activity providers, and enthusiastic volunteers without whom the events would not be possible. If you would like to get involved, contact us by emailing info@queensparkcommunitycouncil.gov.uk

Queen's Park Fireworks Display 2022

Queen’s Park Fireworks Display

(5th November, annually)

Big and spectacular, Queen’s Park Firework Display is an excellent way for residents to enjoy a fireworks display safely and provides an opportunity to ooh and ahh with your neighbours. The show lasts approximately 20 minutes and can be viewed inside the park and on Ilbert Street.

There is also a VIP space at the Fireworks Display for QPCC volunteers and volunteers with other local organisations.

During the Fireworks Display, temporary road closures are in place on Ilbert Street, Third Avenue and Fourth Avenue from around 3-7 pm on the event day. Bruckner Street becomes resident access only. Residents on the affected streets will receive advance notice of road closures by mail.

Queen's Park Winter Festival 2022

Queen’s Park Winter Festival

Small and cute, the Queen’s Park Winter Festival turns Queen’s Park Gardens into our very own winter wonderland. There are children’s donkey rides, an animal petting farm, wreath making and festive music. In St Jude’s Hall, across the road from the Park, there is a special party for the Over 50s featuring dancing, afternoon tea and games.
