St Luke's raises £475 for Syria

12 October 2015 - 11:30am
On 25 September St Luke's Church held a harvest supper for Queen's Park residents. Over 40 residents took part in the fundraising event that included great food, a quiz, and the main event - the Auction of Promises. An Auction of Promises is like a normal auction but instead of antiques or paintings, residents donated favours and gifts including offers to walk dogs, help with food shopping, and a second-hand washing machine.
Harvest is a time to reflect on how fortunate we are and to think of those who are less fortunate. Half the population of Syria have become displaced from their homes and over 4 million people have become refugees. As well as remembering them in our prayers St. Luke's Church will donate the £475 raised at the harvest supper to the Christian Aid Syrian appeal.
St. Luke's Church is located on the corner of Kilburn Lane and Fernhead Road in West Kilburn. All are welcome to Sunday Service at 10.30am and 6.00pm
