22 hours per week

NJC points 27-35 (£23,935 - £30,480 plus a London Allowance of £2,000 pro-rata)

currently £15,421 - £19,312.


Queen's Park Community Council - London's only parish council - is looking for a lively, energetic Community Development Officer to work alongside its Director, supporting the 12 councillors in their efforts to improve the lives of people living in the area.


This is a new post with masses of potential, working in a unique and diverse neighbourhood in an outward-facing role with responsibilities including event management, community grants, communications (website, newsletter, social media), fundraising and public consultation on a neighbourhood plan. The successful applicant will be dynamic, enthusiastic, practical and totally committed to making a difference in Queen's Park.


You will be the Council's person on the ground - getting to know local residents and organisations, making connections, making things happen. This is a community-enhancing role and is about people above all.


You will need practical experience of working in the community or voluntary sector or a background in a related career such as housing, regeneration, social work, youth work or teaching.


We don't require any formal qualifications although you will need good literacy & numeracy skills.

It would be desirable to have 5 GCSE’s A-C or equivalent or Level 2/3 Certificate in Community Development or higher relevant qualification.


The ability to communicate in either Arabic or Bengali will be an advantage.


You will be required to pass background checks from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
